In Surveillance Zone, Ami Toben provides and interesting and very readable look into surveillance operations as part of a corporate security effort.  I am a long time fan of Ami''s blog, Protection Circle and a strong believer in approaching security challenges by fighting smarter not harder - a theme throughout the book.Much of the material and most the of the examples in the book are based on Ami''s first hand experience in the corporate security sector in the San Francisco Bay / Silicon Valley area.  Ami is very humble and forthright.  Despite having a military background, he learned his surveillance and surveillance detection skills in the private sector and does not have a government background in this area.  He reminds the reader of that several times and is quick to point out areas where he has less experience like vehicular mobile surveillance and emphasizes what he knows firsthand. The book focuses on applying surveillance detection,  covert close protection and protective surveillance to executive protection and facility /event security.  One chapter entitled Surveillance Detection on Yourself describes how to use this skillet for personal security as well.One of the great things about the ideas and techniques that Ami presents is the scalability.  There are things you can implement in your operation almost immediately - in particular with regard to static facility security.  His approach is proactive and seeks to address potential threats early.  This is where security professionals should be focused.I strongly recommend Surveillance Zone.  It's a very enjoyable, quick reading  book that has something to offer the security specialist and layman alike.

This book (which I found out about from a SOFREP podcast) was pretty much as described: a brief intro to corporate (Silicon Valley in particular) surveillance detection, and to some extent, surveillance. I'd always wondered about the low level of overt physical security and protection in most of the corporate world, especially Silicon Valley, and whether there was some level of SD or CS going on -- turns out there is, although it is still far from the levels you see in gov/mil situations, or in many other countries with more severe and more frequent criminal threats.The author has mostly a martial arts background, but is very intelligent and observant, so everything is explained without falling into assuming the reader is an expert or from the LE/IC/Mil world. Surveillance and surveillance detection probably isn't terribly relevant to the daily lives of most people (basic physical protection and awareness are enough, although a level of passing familiarity can be helpful.(I'm not really an expert in any of this field stuff at all, although I do have a deep background in various technical aspects of security and surveillance/CS; it was interesting to me just how low tech everything presented was.)

Surveillance Zone is a welcome addition to the literature of self defense, prevention of violence, and general personal safety. This book opens our eyes to the concepts and the mechanics of techniques that can prevent crimes from occurring in the first place. As a self defense instructor, I've always tried to dig into root causes and preventive measures much more that just the brute force and aggression that may be needed at the point of crisis. One of the skill sets that often gets overlooked in common self defense teaching scenarios is that of counter surveillance and surveillance detection. Even the most short sighted, opportunistic criminal engages in some sort surveillance when choosing a target or preparing to strike. Not only does Ami clearly explain this mysterious domain of security operations, but his way of thinking, self awareness and honesty is a model for the type of behavior that helps provide for a secure life. I am grateful that Ami has chosen to share his professional insights and techniques with civilians. I'm looking forward to the next book from him.

This book is pure gold for any professionals in security and surveillance field. The author provides an exceptional guide to this hidden and unknown world of counter-surveillance. This book should be a textbook for both corporate security and government agencies-alike. I hope to see more books from Mr. Ami Toben.

Anyone can (and should) take the advice and lesson in this book to heart. Being prepared and in the right mindset is so critical in today’s world and I wish more people would realize this.

I think it's safe to say that I am completely, irrevocably, undeniably ADDICTED to Stephanie Brother books. As soon as I turned that last page, I wanted to start at the beginning and devour it all over again. It's THAT good. & HOLY. LORD.– Those love scenes were off the charts HOT– Like inferno, incendiary, nuclear exsposions level of HOTNESS. I haven't read anything THAT deliciously wicked good in SO long. It was a breath of fresh air and truly, uniquely amazing. My, god. Huge X2 is SO. UNBELIEVABLY. GOOD.Now that I can take a moment to stop gushing about how AMAZING this book is, here is a little run down about the plot therein:Carrie has had a crush on her twin stepbrothers for as long as she can remember. She knows it's technically "wrong", that having such an illicit affair with her stepbrothers would not only raise the eyebrows of her fellow students at college... but what the heck would their parents think? That doesn't begin to put a dent in the fiery passion she feels for them, though, and soon she finds herself being dragged out to socialize by her best friend, right after she finds out that the twins will be at the local bar.Carrie wants SO badly to taste the deliciously sweet temptation that is Ethan & Nathan Stanmore, but her conscious is always one step ahead, warning her of all the things that could go wrong. I LOVED how Carrie's character was written. She was SO relatable, like ANY girl could have stepped into her shoes. Every argument she came up with made sense but there was SUCH a pull, such a DRIVE between her and her stepbrothers that it was absolutely impossible to deny.While at the bar, Carrie ends up gulping down some liquid courage and finds herself on the dance floor, but before she knows it, the twins join her. She is unable to deny the molten lava chemistry between them and is soon dancing with both Ethan & Nathan, an explosion of sweet passion. They eventually head back home, her sense flooded with passion, but while on her way to bed, overhears a conversation between the twins... One that would change her life, forever. The book got better and better as it went on, absolutely impossible to put down.The character development in this sinfully delicious story was SO GOOD, an area of expertise for Stephanie Brother. She nails it every time, fleshing out characters with perfectly tantalizing descriptions that flows effortlessly from page to page making you forget you're reading a book instead of watching a movie.Stephanie Brother writes THE BEST heroes and heroines. This story was SO, SO addicting. I literally bought it and read it in one sitting. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how there's a plethora of sexy times *BUT* with a wonderfully spun plot, as well. It's THE BEST of both worlds– an exciting, addicting plot with just enough suspense to keep you engaged with enough heat to melt the paint off the walls. This story was exhilarating and took my breath away with how well written it was.I've become a huge fan of Stephanie Brother and I absolutely recommend this book.I am unabashedly unashamed to admit that I am head-over-heels addicted to Stephanie Brother's stories!Do yourself a favor and read this book! It's without a doubt, one of the most addicting reads I've ever read with the perfect amount of heat, plot, emotion, and titillating excitement to keep you addicted to the very last page.Fasten your seat belts– you're in for a hell of a ride!10+++ STARS!!!

Another amazing Stephanie Brother light and easy, yet totally hot, step brother story!This woman can write a sex scene, and her heart throbs get other parts throbbing too!I'm off to read the next one!

I enjoyed the book. Couldn't put it down so kind of wished that it was a little bit longer. :-( But otherwise it was good. Also was expecting something a bit...I dunno...more? I enjoy some of this authors other books so won't hold it against her. It was still steamy.

Definitely a much more explicit book than I was expecting...but in a good way. The characters are good, and the story is good although I wish it had been a little bit longer. The ending felt sort of rushed, but it was a great read.

3.5-stars.This book was a hot, quick read for me. More smut than romance but still a pretty good story. After about 15-20% into this book it seemed to be rushed.Overall I'm glad I read it.

What a pleasurable read! The relatively forbidden step brother ménage was just Hot! It was cooking from page 1. I read it all in a day!

Wow!!! Double the trouble!! Excellent read!!!

I liked it. Stephanie Brother is a very good writer! I feel like it could have been longer with more info, but it had a happy ending, so I can live with that. :-) I look forward to reading other stories this author.

Lies That Bind Us isn't the first debut release that's captured my attention, but it's one of the very rarefied few that I've become rather obsessed with, fretting with anticipation for the next book in the series to be released while wondering why this author hasn't released anything before, given that K.L. Clare clearly has a gift. There's a constant thrum of anticipation and intensity throughout the novel, at times highly palpable and other times quiet but ever-present. Will Hastings and Ellie James share the kind of connection that real people would envy and other fictional couples should have--a devotion to each other unlike any other and a love and loyalty beyond all convention and expectation. Even the supporting cast of characters, whether villians or not, demand the reader's attention. The story itself is unique, a true spark of creative genius on the author's part, and the fact that this is just the beginning of a new series has me eager to see where Clare takes us next. I'm highly recommending Lies That Bind Us and cannot wait for more. Five-plus stars. ♥

This book has all the Action, Romance, Suspense and yes the Tears that I love. I have fallen for Will and Elle and can’t wait for more.I cried in several parts of this book. That says a lot about an Author when their characters are so alive that it brings a reader to tears.I know I can’t be the only one. I loved this book, next one please.

Wow! There’s so much to this story I don't know where to start. It's an action-packed thrill ride of adventure and danger on both sides of the pond. There's a perceived threat to the British monarchy, an evil Order, assassins, fearless warriors, ancient history, and a swoony romance. The mystery was there from the beginning and there seemed to be a hint of mysticism surrounding Ellie along with all the secrets and lies. I didn’t get a good sense of who she was until Will took over and became the boss of her. Dang he’s hot! But he’s almost too much. I mean he’s a British aristocrat, a billionaire, a warrior, an assassin, a businessman, and foremost Ellie’s defender. He has a lot of balls to juggle and sometimes it seemed inconceivable but for the most part the author did a great job of making it all work. Will did have the help of those sexy Hastings brothers and their security hunks. The romance between Ellie and Will took off fast and hot. I didn't feel their connection at first but as the story developed it made more sense and once she was all in the bossy dominant alpha took over. But with Ellie's growth she soon figured out how to manage his dominance in most areas of their relationship. This is a difficult review for me because parts of the story I loved and others not so much. It was a little long and there was some repetition but I'm glad I read it and can't wait for the next story. I hope Ellie opens that door in her mind so we can find out what that's about. I was left with the feeling there are more secrets to be revealed and mysteries to be solved. This is my first read by this author and I like her writing style and her characters are complex and intriguing. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
