Liked the story and the characters. Johanna has come to this small town of Inspiration hoping for a new start in life and also to meet her potential husband. Zane already lives there on a big ranch with his parents and four brothers. The last thing on his mind is getting married to anyone. Before she arrives, his parents tell him he must get married, as do his four brothers. Zane must go first as he is the oldest and he needs to set an example for his brothers. Zane is obviously furious but there are consequences if he doesn't'. Entertaining to read.There was one thing that caught my attention and I found annoying. Each time there was something said by a character that was filled with emotion and maybe a little harsh, the author used the word ejaculation rather than said forcefully, said in a emotional way, said with great displeasure. I had to look up to see if it was proper use of the word in this situation. Guess it is but in all my years I've never seen it used that way. Because of its normal usage, it seemed out of place in a Christian book and makes me wonder why it was used.
I gave this story five stars---I truly enjoy reading these books from the west---they are clean & somewhat faith-based books. I can highly recommend these books for an enjoyable read---the characters & the storylines are excellent--- this series has intrigue & romance from a time that everything was done in a different manner than today---and these marriages probably would last longer than some today!!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I have also purchased the other 3 in the series! Characters are very likable...well most of them. Loved reading about the old west and how mail order brides were needed to grow new towns. I would recommend this book for sure!
Firstly there were numerous spelling and grammatical errors and the style of writing didn't flow.The plot was great but lacked oomph and excitement. One was never able to fully get to know the main characters.
Enjoyed the story. I found s some writing problems, that were overkill. Sounds like a town i would like to visit
I enjoyed this series very much. I am looking forward to Ms. Stirling next book.
This was a very good book. The journey this young lady made to find a new life. Looking forward to book 2 and 3.
