Tiana Clark is the author of Equilibrium, selected by Afaa Michael Weaver for the 2016 Frost Place Chapbook Competition. These articles include road tests, comparisons to similarly classed cars, performance notes, and more. Most of the articles are from the late 1960s through early 1970's but there is also one from 1990 and a couple from 2000-2002. They are fun reads and really help you understand the appeal this car had when first introduced. The one article it is missing, but was published later, was Corvette Magazine's piece on the history of the "Baby 'Vette", which tells you who was involved in the design and how much the Corvette influenced its design and visa versa.The third book? Tozer’s “How to Be Filled with the Holy Spirit” from Moody Publishers.This book holds another poignant message which challenges the Christian to attend another meditative self-review of his, or her, innermost values, and desires, so that he, or she, may realize the degree of importance to which he, or she, holds the personal relationship to, and with, God. In the first chapter, entitled, “Who is the Holy Spirit?”, Tozer begins by first distinguishing the difference between the natural world and the spirit world.Then, in chapter two (“The Promise of the Father”), Tozer provides a brief, but constructive, introduction to the Holy Spirit as he describes His origin, role, and purpose, as a member of the Holy Trinity (or, Godhead) and as God in the Christian’s life. Tozer is clear in his description of the Holy Spirit even as he establishes the fact that the Christian must depend totally upon the Holy Spirit in order to effectively live for Jesus Christ.Next, in the third chapter, entitled, “How to Be Filled with the Holy Spirit”, Tozer explains how the Christian can be filled with the Holy Spirit--- but after he asks seven vital questions:1.) Is the Spirit-filled life for you (pg. 40)?2.) Can you believe this part (i.e., to be Spirit-filled) is part of God’s plan (pg. 41)?3.) Can you believe the Spirit is loveable (pg. 42)?4.) Can you believe this is scriptural (pg. 43)?5.) Do you want to be filled (pg. 44)?6.) Do you want Him to be Lord of your life (pg. 46)?7.) Are you sure you need Him (pg. 48)?It is after the position of these questions, and some insightful commentary, that Tozer explains how to receive the Holy Spirit by referencing the Holy Bible:1.) Present you Body to Him (Romans 12:1 - 2).2.) Ask to be filled (Luke 11:9 - 13 and Psalms 2:8).3.) Obey the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:32).4.) Have faith in God (Galatians 3:2).Finally, Tozer explains how to cultivate the Spirit’s companionship as he cites the scripture, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed? (Amos 3:3).” Perhaps Tozer’s statement (on page 56) not only summarizes Chapter 4 (i.e., “How to Cultivate the Spirit’s Companionship”), but it also harmonizes the message of this entire book:“I don’t want to say this, but I think that some of you may not be ready for the message because you are more influenced by the world than you are by the New Testament. I am perfectly certain that I could rake up fifteen boxcar loads of fundamentalist Christians this hour in the city of Chicago who are more influenced in their whole outlook by Hollywood than they are by the Lord Jesus Christ. I am positive that much that passes for the [G]ospel in our day is very little more than a very mild case of orthodox religion grafted onto a heart that is sold out to the world in its pleasures and tastes and ambitions (1952).”In this final chapter, Tozer also presents six important things which Christians must do in order to be filled with the Holy Spirit after he poses one important question (on page 54)--- “Are you ready for this?”After this question, Tozer enumerates some of the blessings and benefits of allowing the Holy Spirit to take on His rightful role in the Christian’s life. Then, Tozer lists the six important things which the Christian must either remember, or do, if he, or she, is ready to be filled with the Holy Spirit:1.) The Holy Spirit is a living Person [therefore, the Christian must relate to the Holy Spirit as the Person He is] (pg. 57).2.) Be engrossed with Jesus Christ (pg. 58).3.) Walk in righteousness (pg. 59).4.) Make your thoughts a clean sanctuary (pg. 60).5.) Seek to know him in the Word (pg. 61).6) Cultivate the art of recognizing the presence of the Spirit (pg. 63).So, to summarize this book, Tozer is explaining that while a Christian can have sincerely accepted and received the free gift of salvation offered to all by the Self-sacrifice of Jesus Christ, it is also possible for that same Christian to not be filled by the Holy Spirit, and as a result, miss out on a very intimate, life-changing and wholesome experience with the One whom Jesus promised would be our “Comforter” , and the One who would teach us all that we would need to know after Jesus ascended to the Father in Heaven (John 16:7).This is another one of Tozer’s works which I have added to my personal library, and I highly recommend that Christians who wish to know how they can live out their purpose read this book. Tozer’s message can help the seeking Christian to understand that the Christian already has a purpose (Isaiah 43:7)---- the Christian just needs to know God’s plan for his, or her, life so that living out that purpose can be done (Jeremiah 29:11 - 13). But, this is done by cultivating an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit.Tozer’s fearless assessment and rebuke of the modern Church’s seemingly mass abstention from the influence and leadership of the Holy Spirit, and its widely evident conformity to many of the world’s ways and attitudes, further encourages me to take greater critical self-assessment in order to truly understand my personal need for more of the Holy Spirit’s influence and leadership in my life, and I hope this book encourages other Christians to do the same.

Im a very immature christian, having been lazy in pursuing anything more than a surface relationship with Christ for 40+ years. Lately, that has changed and this book (a few transcribed sermons) has provided even more encouragement.

For those who are curious, this book will stretch you. Tozer explains very clearly who and what the Holy Spirit is. It's when he gets to the "why" - that will unsettle the casual reader. Are you SURE you want to be filled with the Holy Spirit?, he asks.He paints a beautiful picture of what it really means to cultivate the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life. It requires a level of devotion and commitment that most people are not willing to make unfortunately. Are you willing? This book will stretch and challenge you - which is exactly what you need if you desire to be filled by Him. God bless you, dear reader.

It's not a deep, long read. Be aware that this is more of a pamphlet than a book. It's 64 pages and can be ready in about 30 minutes. I was hoping for more substance and depth.Though there are some excellent points Tozer makes, especially in terms of people being afraid of a Spirit-filled life. It's worth the price you pay for the last 30 pages. It really is.He doesn't go into gifts or manifestations; Tozer talks about your inner life and how it works, or doesn't work, in tandem with Spirit-filled living. So, in that sense, you'll be glad you got it.He's plain spoken. The longer I live, and the more books I write, and the more books I read, and the more theologians I encounter, I appreciate plain spoken people ever the more.

The most powerful source of energy, love, wisdom, sanctification process, connection with God and Heaven there is in this universe is the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost. And He can live inside us if we want Him too and fill us with overwhelming indescribable love mercy and grace that transcends our understanding and results in pure peace, joy and hope. It will be a sad day on earth when the Holy Spirit is removed from the earth with the rapture. Imagine no moral compass on earth at all for 7 years. Being filled with that power, the same power that spoke the universe and us into creation wants to fill us completely to overflowing if only we let Him in.

I was recently challenged by a mentor that I was lacking joy and receptivity to the Holy Spirit. I do not have a long history of Holy Spirit centered preaching, so I admit I was a little confused about what the Holy Spirit is and who He is. This book cleared everything up and backed every concept up with scripture. This book is a gem and a quick, compelling read. I may never be the same, and that is a good thing.

I will read this book again and again and pass it on to others as well. I don't take Christianity lightly and I also don't believe everything someone says no matter their position. I dig in for myself and try to find out what God is telling me about Himself. I believe He reveals Himself differently to different people and at different times. As long as you're interested in what He's trying to say to you and what He's trying to reveal about Himself to you at this particular point in your life then you'll be on track. This book reiterates that.

A good read and reasonably well written. A completely personal account, Balaam retrospectively recounts events as he saw and lived them. Of great interest was his take on the international politics of the time(stinky and suspect, as always). Also a good insight on what became of many Scouts after Rhodesia was 'liberated' (strange word to use, considering the objectives and outcomes of the 'liberation').I rated 5 stars for this book, mainly as it is one mans self-honest angle on a sad period in the history of Zimbabwe - and we know where that poor country has ended up today.The Rodesian bush war remains an oft forgotten chapter in the history of southern Africa and this is a good starting book for those who want to learn more.

The author led an incredible life. Sadly putting it too paper seems to have missed the mark. People interested in the Bush War will like this book as I did, but don't expect a Clancy novel. He's very scant on equipment details, descriptions of critical events run together and at times confuse the reader. One paragraph your headed to Mozambique on a dirt road, next immediate paragraph all of a sudden your in the middle of a firefight. The whole action of a major raid in three sentences???? The constant, overstated descriptions of everything; from the fear he feels in almost every paragraph to what the day looks like after repeated stories of hangovers.

I found it to be a very interesting book about his experiences, and well worth the read. I would have preferred more on Rhodesia as this was more of interest to me. He went through some horrific scenes and you wonder how he has managed to remain balanced and sane. Top stuff.

This book was well written and very straightforward as to the events that happened during this conflict. I was most impressed with the honesty and clarity of thought provided by the author.

Fantastic book. I've always been enthralled by Rhodesia, and reading about Balaam's personal combat experiences have only deepened my appreciation of the subject. This book proved educational to me, especially when it comes to the topic of how to eat rotten food. Damn shame the Brits screwed the Rhodies in the end.

This is a very deep look into a mind haunted by the past. The book is extremely interesting, and at the same time more than a little depressing. The author does not gloss over what he did. He describes it. The only complaint would be the editing, this would be a 5 star book if it had a better editor.

As with "3 Sips of Gin", this book gives a rare insight into the bush wars in Rhodesia and surrounding countries in the 70s and 80s.

Interesting book, thoughly recomend this book to others too read

I am a witch, not a druid, but I found several points of interest for myself in this book. He includes several very nice prayers for working with nature spirits, spirits of place, and the Fair Folk. He gives useful instructions for finding your local gods, the gods of local rivers and land features. He gives useful help on working with the Ancestors. These items are casually glossed over in many books on Wicca or Witchcraft, but not really explained, or given suggestions for.

Good read. Recommended to anyone interested in Druidism and the 'Old Religion".

It has a lot of info on pratcing Druidry at home with no grove. It is an ADF druid book, I know that makes a little diffrence to me because I want to study OBOD druidry as soon as I can afford the course. Over all it is a very good book.

Great factual, resource and group references as well as rituals to try. Loved it! May just have to buy the paper copy too!

I don't know what book the first reviewer read, but he doesn't seem to have even vaguely grasped what The Solitary Druid is about.Ellison lays out the basics of Celtic Paganism in a scholarly yet accessible way. He supports each of his assertions about Druidic beliefs and practices with citations from ancient sources and from archeology, and lays it all out in an outline that allows students to get started immediately with a Druidic spirituality.Far from being duotheistic, the book gives advice for constructing your Druidic pantheon of worship based on the realities of the local land, and the spirits proper to each individual worshipper.From there, he presents a full system of Druidic ritual, as used in Ar nDraiocht Fein - about as far from a Wiccan form as one could get. It involves offering to the Gods & Spirits, divining their blessing, and then receiving that blessing. Ellison gives solitary rituals for each of the Celtic holy days (and for the solstices and equinoxes), as well as ideas for Druidic funderal and wedding rites.There is a section on spells and practical magic as well, and the book ends with a listing of every Druidic group and order of any size at all.This is a valuable resource - one of the very first books on Druidry drawn from a non-wiccan, scholarly perspective, adapted to practical use. I.love.Lacey. That's all there is to say. She has been not only one of my top female voices since I first heard "I'm So Sick", but she is also one of my favorite writers. From lyrics, to journal entries she shares, to the books she's released. This woman knows God's love and sprinkles Him on EVERYTHING. Now with that being said, I honestly wasn't sure how I was going to respond to this specific book. I wasn't sure how her reflections would play along with the journal entries, poetry, prayers and everything else she shares, but to my surprise it all worked and worked very well. I've already recommended this book to many friends and family members as a must read. Lacey provided me with amazing example of knowing God's love, shining God's love, and living God's love in the midst of any trial. Which ultimately, is why we are here. Two huge man hands thumbs up for this one.

This book took my breath away with every page. Lacey put so many unexplainable emotions into words so flawlessly. I read each page with a ravenous hunger. Sometimes life can get in the way, but this book helped to get me back to the basics with Jesus. Lacey has a true gift. You’ll be in the loving arms of God with every word. It’s all about love and how we accept and give it.

Great book. Lacey is an amazing writer and deep thinker, she is truly an amazing woman. The only thing I find a little strange about some of her books is how she refers to god as “daddy” and sometimes seems to obsess over what god thinks of her life that it becomes unhealthy to the point where I think maybe she isn’t truly enjoying special moments. Like the page where it is the day of her wedding and instead of focusing on herself she is worried about “missing god” and responding to whispers in her head from him. I just feel like maybe if you aren’t 100% a believer of all Christianity teaches her writing can come off a little bit too much like someone basing their life off scripture when in reality no one really knows if it really came from god or not.

I received this book super quick close to release date. It is such a fabulous an interesting book, she always has such a open mind an just wants to share things with people but never is preachy about it an never makes it seem like if u view n believe otherwise that you are less than. She even offers help if you are open to god n everything..like if this is something you want here is a prayer you can use if you are a bit confused n lost about how to open your heart n soul to him. All of her books are 30/10 an put things into words that are sometimes not easy to do. She speaks the message if i can survive, thrive an overcome.. So can you!

I have been in a spiritual drought lately, and I found myself in a rut I couldn't get out of. This book really helped open my eyes, and see life differently than before. Lacey Sturm is not only a well accomplished singer and artist, she's also an amazing author! This book challenged me to rethink how I thought being a Christian was all about.
